The Atom-Based Asus Eee PC 901 Specs

Finally what everyone was waiting for. Asus has finally released if much awaited Eee PC 901. This product had been in the making for a few years and finally it is available for sale. Once the EeePC series were cheap but this modern style notebook with a lot of software in it is expected to be slightly costly. The EeePC 901 has an Atom based processor that has led to some minor changes in both the external and internal features.

The computer comes with a much faster 1.6 GHz diamondville processor and also has Bluetooth capability. Other added features include a 1GB RAM, memory slot card and 20 BG storage for the Linux system (12 GB if you have the windows system).

As with previous EeePC models, the battery life is again a bit of a controversy. Asus claims that the 901 model will have a longer shelf life of close to 4-6 hours- but time will tell. In Taiwan, another added feature to the 901 series is the WiMax. However, in North America there is still confusion whether the WiMax equipped EeePC will be available anytime soon. The cost of the 901 EeePC is not known but one should expect to pay anywhere from $600-$700.
